TLI is a family owned and run company. Our directors, Ian and Eileen, have been in the business of teaching students, and training teachers, for over 40 years in Europe, Asia and Africa. TLI operated in the North of Spain as an English academy and provider of Trinity College London TESOL qualifications for over ten years before relocating to Edinburgh. We know how difficult it is to be away from our family and friends. Because of this we work very hard at making our students feel at home with us as they improve their language skills.
Our teachers
As a long-standing teacher training institution we pride ourselves on the quality of our staff. All of our teachers are native English speakers, hold TEFL qualifications and take part in regular training sessions to help hone and develop their skills. As well as technical teaching ability we always seek to employ staff who genuinely care about the welfare and development of their students and consider teaching as a vocation rather than just a job. Our teachers give communicative, informative, enjoyable lessons.

We work closely with a long-established local agency to provide homestay accommodation.

In addition, it is important to remember that you may be required to share a room during peak periods, for example from May to October.

You will receive 16 meals per week in your host family accommodation. That is to say breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday and breakfast, lunch and evening meal on weekends. Sometimes your host family will allow you to cook and/or serve you snacks, etc.
