Sprachcaffe is a worldwide organization that owns over 30 language schools in fantastic, carefully selected destinations around the world. Sprachcaffe was founded more than 30 years ago. Thousand and thousand of people have been travelling with Sprachcaffe, immersing themselves in foreign cultures, experiencing exotic new countries and also learning one of the seven languages the school offer such as: English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, German or Italian.

Located in Pembroke, a residential area but close to St. Julian's. SprachCaffe can easily accommodate up to 400 students at a time. The school has an outdoor swimming pool but you can also walk a few minutes to the beach.

Sprachcaffe offers high quality language courses to its students. Many South American students (Brazilians, Colombians...) come to Sprachcaffe to learn English, so you will not only meet new foreign friends but also get used to hearing different accents.

Standard Course

Whether you are a complete beginner or simply wish to brush up on your English.
Standard Language Course at any of our Sprachcaffe / Languages PLUS schools around the world is bound to meet your requirements.This is the perfect compromise between learning the language and enjoying your free time.
Four daily lessons guarantee effective learning, while the morning or afternoon remains free for extra-curricular activities.

Course duration: minimum 1 week
Minimum age in the Adult Program: 18 years old

Intensive Course

English 16 - 99 years old

An Intensive Language Course at Sprachcaffe / Languages PLUS in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, or Chinese is the ideal choice for a more in-depth focus on the language. Whether you are a complete beginner or simply wish to brush up on your languages, this course will be of real benefit in helping you to achieve your language goals. With the Intensive Course, more emphasis is placed on learning, thus leaving less free time for extra curricular activities. Six daily lessons help you to make effective progress in a much shorter time. Course duration: minimum 1 week Classes: 6 lessons per day, each of 45 minutes, Minimum age in the Adult Program: 18 years old (Participation conditions for people of the ages 16 and 17 can be found on the specific course pages where available) Levels: basic, intermediate, advanced Starting dates: throughout the year

Accommodations

Usually the check-in is one or two days before the start of the course, and check out on the day of graduation. You can change the dates in the form.

Shared Apartment 18 - 99 years old

Standard self-catering apartments are usually shared by 1 to 3 students and have a bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen.


Single or double rooms are available and students can book breakfast, half board or full board additionally. Comfort apartments are located on campus and are air-conditioned.

  • Facilities: All rooms have telephones and air-conditioning. There is a small launderette in the school for students' use.
  • Services: Cleaning service twice a week; students are asked to take care of the day-to-day cleaning. Bed linen and towels are provided.

  • Distance to supermarket: The closest is 5 minutes away.
  • Distance to the beach: The closest is 10 minutes away on foot. Sandy beaches are in the north of the island, 30 minutes away by bus.

Staying with a Local Family close to the school will allow you to learn about Maltese culture, food, family life and traditions. Our homestay families will give you security, comfort and support.


All our host families are located within walking distance of the school. Half-board is included and homsestays can be booked in single or double rooms outside high season when single rooms are not available.

  • Facilities: Most host families have a washing machine which students can use  while some families offer to do students' laundry at a small extra charge.
  • Services: Basic cleaning is offered by the host family once a week. Bed linen is provided but students are requested to provide their own towels.
  • Distance to school: Within a 15-minute walk. Family allocations are made some weeks before arrival so late bookings cannot be guaranteed a family closer to the school than others.
  • Distance to supermarket: Within a 15-minute walk.
  • Distance to the beach: There is a small sandy beach 10 minutes' walk from the school and a rocky beach 20 minutes' walk from the school.  The larger sandy beaches are in the north of the island, 30 minutes away by bus.
  • Key deposit: This depends on the family's house rules but is usually €50.

Remember to show respect to your host family and its traditions and way of life at all times. We also suggest bringing a small gift as a sign of appreciation.

Cancellation Policies

We apply the booking and cancellation conditions of the partner school. Below is an excerpt from the cancellation conditions.

  • Up to 16 days prior to start date: 10% of total fees, max. €250
  • Between 3 and 15 days prior to start date: 50% of total fees, max. €500
  • 2 days prior to start date: 90% the total fees, max. €1000
  • 1 day prior to start date or after: 100% of total fees, max. €1200
