OHC New York is part of a group of language schools in 5 countries (United States, England, Australia, Canada, Ireland) since 1974. The group continues to grow and develop and is today one of the largest and most widely recognized providers of English language courses and programs in the world.

OHC New York was founded in 2007, the school allows you to learn English by living like a real New Yorker. Indeed the school is located in the heart of New York in the district of Manhattan. Students will enjoy all the benefits of learning English at this world-renowned language center, while enjoying one of New York's most popular neighborhoods!

English lessons


English classes are given in classes of maximum 12 people. There is also a dynamic and busy social program that allows our students to practice their English at every opportunity and to make new friends. Students can start most classes every Monday (except holidays). There are different types of courses: general English, business English and a summer camp program for teenagers.

 

Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood


With its facades in red brick walls. Here you will find several atmospheres that make this place a unique space: bohemian artists cohabit with the hip gay community. Little known to tourists, it is nevertheless one of the highlights of New York nightlife. The district has also become a world reference in the field of contemporary art. It has more than 200 art galleries, they are located mainly to 20th street and offer vernissages on Thursday.

For food and drink, there is a huge market at the corner of 9th Avenue and 15th Street (Chelsea Market), offering about twenty food stores, varied and of good quality.

Executive English - OHC New York

The OHC New York center offers Executive English courses designed specifically to prepare you for communicating skillfully in the international business world. 
We offer language services for corporate and business professionals with flexible, customized options ranging from one-to-one tuition, mini groups of six and tailor-made closed courses for companies - at OHC or in your own place of work.

Intensive TOEFL Preparation

English 16 - 99 years old

Recognized by universities, colleges and businesses worldwide, successful completion of the TOEFL iBT can help you achieve your professional and academic goals. Our program focuses on reading, listening, speaking and writing. Frequent practice tests will measure your progress and ensure you are comfortable with the format and timing of the examination. Using the latest material and technology in a small class setting, this program will give you the tools and confidence necessary to achieve your goals.

All of our TOEFL preparation instructors have been trained on how to prepare students for the new TOEFL test, and they have been taking part in iBT TOEFL seminars. We are dedicated to keeping our students up-to-date on the changes that are happening with one of the most important standardized tests in the ESL world.

Accommodations

Usually the check-in is one or two days before the start of the course, and check out on the day of graduation. You can change the dates in the form.

Homestay in New York

Homestay 16 - 99 years old

Important: Accommodation availability is subject to change without notice and it is out of Worddy's ability to know its availability on real time. Only the school can confirm once a booking has been received.

Make the most of your stay in New York with carefully selected Homestay accommodation. You will feel at home and be able to practise your English in friendly surroundings. You will have your own room, and you can choose between 2 meal options: self-catering (you cook for yourself), breakfast only, or breakfast and dinner. Homestays in Manhattan are high in demand and we recommend you book them as early as possible. Shared rooms are only available if you are coming with another person at the same time and leaving at the same time, these are only available outside of Manhattan or above 110th Street.

You share a home with your host but have your own private room and a choice of meal options. Our homestay hosts are carefully chosen by our Student Services Team for their friendliness and experience in looking after international students. All homestay accommodation is within easy travelling distance of the school.

Manhattan homestays: 30 – 45 min on public transport
Above 110th homestays: 45 – 60 min on public transport
Outside of Manhattan homestays: 45 – 90 min on public transport
