General English Group

English 16 - 99 years old

The General English Group Course for Adults is a standard course that aims to help you improve your English language skills effectively in everyday situations.
The standard English courses are amongst the most popular at our English language school in Malta.

The General English course will cover:
  • The four basic skills: speaking, listening, writing and reading
  • Grammatical accuracy (according to your current level of English)
  • A good range in vocabulary (according to your current level of English)
  • More accurate pronunciation in English
  • Social English skills and useful language techniques
  • Learning skills to encourage self-study
  • The above is covered utilising proven teaching methods and the obligatory course book.

Accommodations

Usually the check-in is one or two days before the start of the course, and check out on the day of graduation. You can change the dates in the form.

Economy Shared Self-Catering Apartments in Sliema

Shared Apartment 18 - 99 years old

Important: Accommodation availability is subject to change without notice and it is out of Worddy's ability to know its availability on real time. Only the school can confirm once a booking has been received.

Our shared self-catering apartments are standard economy. They are not identical and vary in
style and size, however they are all of a similar standard and have the same facilities.

All apartments are within walking distance to the school and the prices (unless stated otherwise) include; utility bills, Wi-Fi in the common parts of the apartments, weekly cleaning of the kitchen, T.V area & bathrooms. We do not clean the bedrooms nor change the bed linen, we only do this for new arrivals. Extra linen is provided in each apartment in the dedicated linen
cupboard. Should clean linen not be available students may ask at the school reception.

Washing machines are available either inside the apartment or in the laundry area depending
on the apartment allocated. Washing machine tokens can be purchased at the school reception. A quick wash starts from € 2.

As these are self-catering apartments, students are responsible to look after their own bedroom
and change of linen as well as the general cleanliness of their apartment including disposing of
the garbage bags. Garbage has to be taken out by the students as instructed on notices that
are found in each apartment with clear information on rubbish collection days and times. Students are responsible to bring with them their own towels, toiletries and cleaning materials.

Triple / Quad rooms can have a maximum of 4 students, Twin rooms can have a maximum of 2
students and Single rooms are for 1 student.

All apartments are serviced with lifts and have cable TV. Additional cleaning can be purchased
between € 10 - 30.

A refundable deposit of € 100 is to be paid at the school on the first day.

Check-in time is at 14:00pm and check-out is at 09:00am.

Bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning systems which can be operated at an additional cost. Prepaid electrical meter cards can be purchased from the School Reception.

Homestay

Homestay Accommodation: Learn English and live with a Host Family in Malta

English language students wanting to make the most of the learning experience while attending Linguatime School of English often choose the Homestay Accommodation option. A host family provide you with the opportunity of living with a Maltese family, experiencing our culture and way of life first hand and at the same time continuously practicing the use of the English Language to communicate.

Our Homestay Accommodation option allows our English language students to take their language learning outside the classroom.

The school’s Host Families provide shared accommodation.  Up to a maximum of four students may be accommodated in one room; alternatively a single room may be booked at an additional cost.

Breakfast, consisting of tea/coffee, cereal and toast, and dinner are included daily in the Homestay Accommodation package.  A packed lunch consisting of sandwiches, mineral water and fruit may be booked as an Optional Extra.  Dinner is usually served between 6pm and 8pm.

All Host Family Accommodation is in the locality of Sliema or St Julians its vicinity and all within walking distance from the school.

Host Families in Malta are licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority. All our host families are native speakers of English, which allows students to enjoy practicing English. Our school monitors and visits the Host Families regularly. We take our Student Reviews seriously and monitor them on a weekly basis to ensure that optimum service is being provided to all of our English Language Students in this type of accommodation.

Homestay Accommodation Facilities:

When choosing this type of accommodation, we encourage our students to keep in mind that families are welcoming them into their homes as part of the family.  The accommodation is not a guesthouse or hotel.

Wi-Fi is not standard with this type of accommodation.  We recommend that you request this option upon booking.

Laundry is provided once weekly and you are to bring your own towels.
