EC Malta is located in the heart of St. Julians, one of the most popular neighborhood on the island of Malta. The school is right in front of the sea which makes it very easy for students to go for a swim after school.

St. Julians is known to be the liveliest neighborhood of Malta. Next to the school, you will be able to find plenty of restaurants and shops and also many bars and nightclubs in Paceville.

There is also a bus stop few meters away from the school which make it very easy to go wherever you want on the island.

On the General English Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week, which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You can also choose to extend and intensify your 20 lessons per week with these add-ons.

This course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking an additional 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

Learn everything you need to know about English for Work in Malta

Take an English for Work course at EC and you’ll be ready to take on opportunities in all parts of the globe.

The highly specialised teaching we offer will enable you to communicate in all situations, confident when interacting with colleagues and able to use the English language to achieve highly specific aims.

As well as improving your English, you’ll develop many other workplace skills. The ability to solve problems, prepare for meetings and argue for your point of view will prove invaluable as your career advances.

There are plenty of social activities to make sure you get the most out of your time in Malta, like karaoke nights, harbour cruises, tours of Mdina and Valletta, and visit the world’s oldest temples.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of our Academic Extras to maximise your learning, with activities including attending lectures, a pronunciation clinic, conversation class, and conversation partnerships with local native speakers.

Embassy summer - Day Programme (12 - 17 years)

English 12 - 17 years old Junior

Available from 26 Jun – 25 Aug. Embassy Malta Day Programme consists of daily English lessons and social activities from Monday to Friday and is for students ages 12 to 17. English lessons alternate from morning to afternoon every week as shown on the timetables below (please note that changes might apply).

Social activities are held in the mornings/afternoons when students are not in lessons. Please note, we do not offer ‘Lesson Only’ Day Programmes – the day programme can only be booked with activities included.

If a parent wants their child to take lessons only then they will have to make arrangements to collect them  before or after their lessons dependent on whether they have morning or afternoon classes. We can only offer two pick up times each day as detailed below.

This programme does NOT include accommodation.

Lunch is served at school or on activity, lunch consists of one hot or cold dish.

Getting to and From School Activities

A private EC/Embassy bus service will take students to and from school and activities. Students will be picked up and dropped off at EC Malta (our adult school in St. Julian’s). Parents should ensure that their children are at EC Malta (St. Julian’s) every morning for the bus which departs at 08:30, and every afternoon at 18:00 to collect their kids.

Standard Homestay - EC Malta

Homestay 16 - 99 years old

When choosing to stay with a homestay, students have the unique opportunity to share and experience the day to day life of a Maltese family together with all the diversity of the Maltese culture.

Students can choose between twin and single room accommodation. For those students choosing twin room accommodation they can expect to be placed with a student of a different nationality or they can choose to share with a friend.

Each room will provide the student with storage space for clothes, a chair and desk (if not in the bedroom students will be able to use a designated area for studying) as well as good lighting, mirror, waste paper bin. Bed linen and towels are provided by the host family and they will also offer students one clothes wash per week and anything extra is at the discretion of the host family.

Whilst staying in a host family students will have access to communal rooms such as the lounge, dining area and kitchen although most students will not be able to use the cooking facilities and each family will advise the student on what a student has access to in the kitchen. Bathrooms will be shared with the host family.

Booking a superior homestay enables a student to have their own bathroom which will either be en-suite to the bedroom or located outside the bedroom however these facilities will be for the sole use of the student during their stay.

Club 50+ Programme + Host Family

50 - 99 years old senior

The 50+ Club is a program created by EC to bring together people who wish to mix English classes and cultural visits.

1) Improve your English
You will have 20 lessons per week in a small group of maximum 6 students. The course is very practical and aims to enable you to speak English with confidence in the everyday situations you would encounter on your travels. Our highly qualified teachers create a comfortable atmosphere in which you will enjoy learning English.

2) Discover Malta
The excursion program includes activities that will allow you to discover this unique island and its culture. You will learn about Malta's incredible history and have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean cuisine.

3) Meet new people
Whether you travel alone or with a friend, you can expect to meet many people from all over the world. The 50+ Club is a great way to meet like-minded people and make international friends. Learn English and socialize with other students. Your groups are small to encourage conversation and friendship. Come with an open mind and you will leave with a full heart.

Cancellation Policies

We apply the booking and cancellation conditions of the partner school. Below is an excerpt from the cancellation conditions.

To students cancelling 14 days or more prior to the course or accommodation start date (whichever comes first), or to students who have had their visa application rejected, EC will refund fees received in full less non-refundable charges (see fees listed above), the value of these fees vary according to region.

Students who are canceling or postponing in less than 14 day prior to the course or accommodation start date (whichever comes first) will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to 1 week of accommodation and tuition and all non-refundable charges (see fees listed above).

After the start date of a student’s course, any lesson hours reduced, cancelled or shortened, at the student’s request, are non-refundable.
